Should I use the Europass CV format?

No. Not in my opinion. I’ve never seen any CV template as bad as that. It just lacks any ability to help you to showcase your abilities. There are far too many fields and not enough space to write in the detail that you should be using.

You’ll have a better chance of succeeding by starting with a blank sheet and a few headings. And, I’m speaking from experience helping people to get selected for jobs all over Europe.

Alternatives to the Europass CV

Anything that conveys why you should be chosen for a particular job.

Your CV needs to include:

A summary that provides an overview of how you meet the Person Specification.
Detail to support those statements in the remainder of the CV.
Optional sections on achievements and skills.
A section on your employment experience, written to highlight the transferable aspects.
A section on your education.

You don’t need to clutter your CV with anything outside of those categories.

You should be providing detail to support your application, beyond just a brief list of facts.
