As part of my interview coaching, I deliver mock interview services to benchmark progress towards your optimal interview technique.
Experienced at interviewing candidates for all kinds of roles and at all levels, and with consultancy experience across a range of industries, I am well placed to provide a realistic interview experience; supporting interview preparation.
What is a mock interview?
A mock interview is a practice interview that replicates what the real interview will be like. It allows you to test yourself in a realistic scenario and feel what it is like to react under pressure. Of course, it won’t be exactly the same as the real interview and nor will your reactions. But, it allows you to get used to performing in that scenario.
It should help you to identify your current strengths and what to work on. Also, it should improve your confidence.

How mock interviews work
Mock interviews are a good way to test and gauge your progress towards interview success.
They allow you to experience something similar to the environment of your next interview. And, the pressure to deliver the most suitable answer on the spot.
A full mock interview is best done after at least one session of interview coaching. That way, you will learn the techniques and do the self-reflection that is necessary to improve from where you are. Then, the mock interview will gauge how well you implement the learning. The feedback should help you to have confidence that you will succeed in the real interview.
Mock interview service for schools and colleges
As part of an interview preparation and training programme, I deliver mock interviews to groups of students.
I only deliver mock interviews to students who have first been educated in the interview process and then briefed on what to expect and how to prepare for the session.
The mock interviews then test the students’ ability to apply the learning, rather than testing their existing knowledge from differing experience levels. Mock interviews are consistent for all students whilst also using questions tailored to their career choices if they have made them. For this reason, I can offer to write question guides for volunteers if you choose to use them, allowing a consistent approach and quality control. If time permits, I will interview all students in a group or year.

Does your school need an interview preparation service?
The drawback of many existing mock interview programmes is the use of volunteers. More specifically, a lack of selection criteria for volunteers and a lack of training or briefing. It leaves inconsistent delivery of mock interviews so that some students gain a more realistic experience than others.
In my interview programmes, I offer up-to-date interview questions informed by current business leadership roles, an empathetic approach, a commitment to equality, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and the ability to tailor questions to students’ career choices, if they have made them.
