CV writing is not really just about the writing. The essence of a great CV writing service is the consultation. This is how the consultation works:
Length: At least 2 hours. If we need more time, then we take as long as we need to gather all of the information to write you the best CV. If we need to schedule a second or third session, that’s what we do.
Format:
- Face-to-face if you are nearby. We have offices in Newcastle, Middlesbrough, and Sunderland, UK or I sometimes deliver consultations elsewhere when travelling.
- By Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or any other video meeting technology.
- By audio call if you prefer.
As long as you can talk openly about what you have done and achieved, then I will get what I need to write you the best CV.
Content
My style involves asking the right questions, taking the time to fully understand you and what drives you and what you have achieved, before beginning to craft your CV and helping you with other aspects of your career development.
We will discuss your objectives and exactly how you can achieve them. We will talk through each of your jobs one at a time. I need to understand what really makes you special – so that I can make your CV better than the next person who works in the same industry.
Do you need to prepare for the consultation?
Probably not. Be ready to discuss what you did and achieved. But, please don’t try to prepare your answers in advance. It works best if it’s a two-way conversation in which you can speak dynamically and answer follow-up questions.
List some main points about your career if you think it will help. But, there are good reasons why I speak to all of my clients directly rather than sending out a questionnaire.
Results
I will uncover details/ skills/ evidence that are not currently on your CV. I will get you to think differently about your skills. This gives you both the knowledge and confidence to perform well in interviews.
You will finish this session with renewed confidence and a clear focus on what you offer your next employer. I will challenge you to speak confidently about your achievements.
As well as helping me to write you a better CV, this also benefits you in other ways. It helps you to understand yourself and the value you offer your employer. All of my CV writing services include a one-to-one consultation. I don’t limit the duration of these. It takes as long as it takes to get to know your value. I would never try to write your CV with incomplete knowledge.

If your experience is so in demand that it speaks for itself and you will easily get selected, then I recommend you write your CV yourself. Likewise, if, for whatever reason, you want a CV that is just a plain list of facts.

FAQ: Can you share a template or sample?
I don’t do templates, I don’t do standard or one-size-fits-all advice. I’ve never yet found a good reason to share a CV sample. Your CV is your CV.
FAQ: Can you edit my existing CV?
Honestly, there is no point. I don’t want you to pay for a slightly better version of what you have already. I want to transform your approach to job applications and your results.
I don’t polish up your existing CV. I start from the beginning and use your existing materials as a guide.
